yay for care packages! :)
i got to the office at 7:20 am. still bleary-eyed from lack of sleep (i always am lacking sleep, no matter how early i sleep). i saw this little package under my desk.
ah, well to my excitement i just took a picture of what’s inside :D

the love of film.
remember this? well digiprint told me they’d be shipping the cd and negatives on monday. knowing that on Philippine time, it could be Monday night or early Tuesday morning. lol.
after a restless sleep, which resulted to tears at 4:30 in the morning and a wake up call at qtr to 7. i shuffled and drove, zombie-like towards work. i was accompanied by ben in starbucks, i was sipping my nonfat caramel macchiato and smoking menthol lights. trying everything to keep awake, everything was in vain :)).
when we got back. mr. guard poked me a strange, but familiar looking red package. my bleary, slitted eyes grew wide and round and suddenly my whole heart and body was awake as I snatched the package and hurriedly ripped it open (so much for photo ops lol).
With shaking hands (from lack of sleep and nervousness) I slipped it into my cd drive and waited patiently for the pictures to come out. this was my make or break moment. the time where i would decide if i was really going for a dslr in the future.
i was browsing the folders, one by one and each folder i saw, my heart lifted and i kept smiling.
if you’re curious about the pics… here’s a couple of them… the black(multiply) and white(flickr) set, and the colored(multiply) set(multiply) from my canon av-1.
my most favorite from the sets will most probably be these two.

exposed!
I was finishing off some rolls of film to be developed today. So far, 4 are in line waiting to be burned forever into a cd. (and oh boy this will be a toughie to watch).
As I wound(winded?) up Vivi, it made a happy turning and clicking sound, so I proceeded until the crank was loose and flimsy and took the colored film out.
When I wound(winded?) the av-1, the sound didn’t seem too familiar. the crank was a bit tight, and the winding process was bumpy. I knew I was in trouble when the crank became flimsy even before the roll was over.
To my dismay. The film was there, naked, unwound(un-winded?), and for all the light particles to see. I yanked the roll and out came a long trail of film.

I wanted to cry. Sort of. The Tagaytay pictures were there, so was my Binondo street shoot.

Well, what can I cry about anyway? I don’t even know if the pictures turned out well, there are 5 rolls in waiting. So I guess I’ll know when they ship the cds on Monday. :)

something i promised to do more in 2008 [x]
DISCLAIMER: eherm, just so you know. i’m not on a bridge camera or dslr. i just carry Renault , my canon ixy 910 is point and shoot. i’m not gonna blather about aperture settings. shutter speeds, white balances and what not. i will not brag about my Nikon d300 with the 70-200 f/2.8 lens because i don’t have one. lol
i am a hobbyist. i am just learning, please feel free to comment and bash at my pictures if you wish. i want to learn. and with learning, i will go through the tough love hahaha. just like when i was doing graphic and web design.
i also got a present. a vivitar wide and slim toy cam, from my photography ‘teacher’/mentor. he thinks i have potential. it’s been *counts* 7 years since i’ve used film. and i’m back to my dad’s old school circa 1987 cam. lol. with this, i have also requested ownership of a smena 8m from an lj friend, which i will be getting in april. :) thanks mikko ♥
i guess that’s it. feel free to browse at my pictures. i’d appreciate it.

thanks! – from wastefulspace and renault
